Anna Just, associate professor at the Institute of German Studies, University of Warsaw, historical linguist with a speciality in the history of the German language, German historical grammar, German chancery languages used in the area of Poland, codicology and palaeography. She has published articles on German pamphlets and early newspapers issued between the 16th and the 18th century, German manuscripts from the former Załuski Library at the National Library in Warsaw, and historical German grammars of Polish for foreigners, written between the 17th and the 19th centuries.
She is the author of a monograph on the late medieval and early modern German military terms Die Entwicklung des deutschen Militärwortschatzes in der späten frühneuhochdeutschen Zeit (1500-1648) (Frankfurt am Main 2012), and a diachronic study on the 16th and 17th-century correspondence Schreiben und Rescripte von Frauen und Princessinnen aus dem Liegnitz(er) Fürsten Hause (1546-1678). Edition sowie eine historisch-soziopragmatische und historisch-textlinguistische Skizze (Frankfurt am Main 2014). The latter monograph includes the first edition of letters written by the duchess of Legnica, held at the National Archives in Legnica. Her current research focuses on Regimina sanitatis – medieval German medical compendia.
She has also been working on a catalogue of German manuscripts from the collections retrieved after World War II which are now part of the National Library in Warsaw and the University Library in Warsaw.
