Paulina Pludra-Żuk, assistant professor at the Institute for the History of Science, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw (Old and Rare Book Studies Research Unit); a member of manuscripta.pl research group. She holds degrees in classical philology and library science from the University of Warsaw, and a PhD in history from the Institute for the History of Science, PASc (thesis title: ‘Aurora’ by Peter Riga in the Middle Ages. Transmission and function of the text on the Polish territories). Her research interests focus on the intellectual history of the Middle Ages from the perspective of the book and book collections, in general, and manuscript fragments and versified bibles, in particular.
She translated Didascalicon of Hugh of St. Victor into Polish (Hugona ze Świętego Wiktora Didascalicon, czyli co i jak czytać, Paulina Pludra-Żuk, trans. and commentary and Jacek Soszyński, introduction and commentary, Warsaw 2017). Currently, in collaboration with dr Marta Czyżak and Ms. Ewa Chlebus, she is working on Medieval manuscript fragments of Teutonic Prussia in collections of the Parker Library, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, the C. Norwid Library in Elbląg and the University Library in Toruń as the evidence in reconstructing the history of collections, a collaborative project conducted for Fragmentarium:
