SIGLUM

Marcin Krawczuk, assistant professor at the Department of African Languages and Cultures at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw. His academic interests focus on Ethiopia, particularly on the manuscrupt heritage of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. He has published translations from Ge’ez into Polish (Literatura na Świecie, 2014, no 7/8). His current research projects include a study of early Ethiopian Christian homiletics and the image of Muslims and Islam in Ge’ez literatures. He cooperates with the Hiob Ludolf Centre for Ethiopian and Eritrean Studies (Hamburg) in the area of cataloguing Ethiopian manuscripts from European and American collections. He is also interested in other manuscript cultures of the Christian Orient (Syriac, Arabic, Coptic).
