Urszula Świątek, B.A.

Urszula Świątek, a graduate of Musicology at the Faculty of Cultural and Artistic Studies, and the Institute of English Studies at the Faculty of Modern Languages, University of Warsaw. Her research interests encompass the intersections of early and contemporary music, with a particular focus on musical settings of Old and Middle English texts (e.g., “Contemporary Musical Settings of Beowulf” Patchwork, no. 6, 2021), and the historical musical cultures of Lower Silesian centers (Musicalia from the Schaffgotsch Majorat Library in the Light of the Musical Inventory PL-Wn Mus.1338, Bachelor’s thesis, University of Warsaw, 2021).
In her academic research, she aims to shed light on musicalia preserved in national libraries and archives, often displaced or obscured by historical upheavals, with the goal of identifying, cataloging, and preparing these materials for performance or analysis through modern sheet music editions. Currently, she is researching the 19th-century musical culture of the spa town Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój (Bad Warmbrunn).
