The N-Psalter: a report from a meeting in the Conservation Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (March 6th, 2025)

Below, we present a selection of photographs documenting our work with fragments of the N-Psalter and early printed books from Samuel Meienreis’ collection. The work is being carried out at the conservation workroom supervised by Dr. Dorota Jutrzenka-Supryn at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University (UMK), and in the laboratory of Prof. Piotr Targowski at the Faculty of Physics, UMK in Toruń. This long-term research project, ongoing for several years, focuses on the study of the dispersed 11th-century English N-Psalter and its provenance. The research is conducted both in Poland and internationally. The SIGLUM members involved in the project include prof. Monika Opalińska (University of Warsaw), prof. Barbara Wagner (University of Warsaw), and dr. Paulina Pludra-Żuk (Polish Academy of Sciences), along with scholars from other academic institutions: prof. Piotr Targowski (UMK), dr. Dorota Jutrzenka-Supryn (UMK), prof. Jakub Karasiński (University of Warsaw), dr. Magdalena Kowalska (UMK), among others. The photographs document the process of preparing materials for a special session dedicated to manuscripts and manuscript fragments which will take place on April 11, 2025, as part of the HEART conference at the University of Warsaw.
