“In the Beginning Was the Initial” – Exhibition at the Benedictine Museum in Tyniec
The exhibition In the Beginning Was the Initial, organised by the Manuskrypt Foundation and the Chronić Dobro Foundation will open on 25 October at 6:00 p.m. at the Benedictine Museum in Tyniec.
The exhibition showcases copies of illuminated leaves from medieval manuscripts. The curator, Barbara Bodziony – a graduate of the Jagiellonian University, illuminator, calligrapher, art historian, and medievalist – has been giving courses on calligraphy and illumination (SCRIPTORIUM) at the Tyniec Abbey since 2008. She is also the co-author of the calligraphy handbook Piękna Litera (A Beautiful Letter).
